PTA catered a Holiday Breakfast this morning for all the staff at Marguerita. Thank you to all the volunteers for making this possible. Wishing everyone a safe and wonderful break!  See you in 2020.  🎁🎉

Popsicle Party & Boba

Classes that had 100% participation for this year's Jog-A-Thon celebrated today with a popsicle party. Teachers received a boba drink. Thank you One Zo for helping us today!  One teacher said, "OMG, that boba was so GOOOOOOOOD!!!"

PTA Cook’s Night Out ADULTS Only

This month's Cook's Night Out is a special one designated for ADULTS only.  Please join the Marguerita Parent Teacher Association next Wednesday, December 18th at Big Catch anytime between 5-10pm to socialize and enjoy a moment before the holiday rush (Or amidst it).  Happy Hour is from 5-6:30 and 9:30-closing.  Big Catch will provide 20% back to Marguerita if you mention it to your waiter/waitress.  

Free Dress Week Dec 16-20

The celebrations continue!  Because we were SO close to our Jog-A-Thon fundraising goal, Principal Johnson is rewarding the whole school with FREE DRESS WEEK next week, December 16-20.  AUSD dress standards still apply.

Jog-A-Thon winners announced today! Congratulations winners! And our final amount raised is $44,600, which is just a little short of our goal. However Ms. Johnson has decided that since we still raised well over what we raised last year that the kids will get a FREE DRESS WEEK anyway! Stay tuned for those dates and the popsicle parties!

Pennies for Presents 🎅🏻🤶🏻

Our annual Pennies for Presents begins tomorrow. Bring in your loose change and place them in the containers in the classrooms. Donations collected will be used to purchase gift cards for some Marguerita Families that need a little assistance this Holiday season. 🎁🎄

Jog-A-Thon Prize Raffle!

Letters are going home today listing the prizes your child has earned, including any raffle tickets. Please review the detailed list of final prizes.

Raffle tickets will be given to the students on Thursday morning right before the raffle boxes will be made available during recess. Students can place their tickets in the boxes of prizes they want to win. (The raffle drawing will be Dec. 3.) 

If you did not get the letter and would like to double check how many raffle tickets your child has earned, please send us an email at jogathon@margueritapta.org.

Pokemon power banks that were not picked up at the Fall Carnival will be distributed soon. If you do NOT want us to give them to your child, please email us to let us know.

Upping the Ante

We are going to up the ante! 2 more days to pledge to help us reach our goal!

We are now awarding the Top 5 Fundraising Classes $300, $250, $200, $150, and $100 (increased from $100/$75/$50 to top 3). The top 5 fundraising classes collectively raised a lot of money – they should get to use more of it.

Top 3 Fundraising Grades now get $400, $375, and $350 for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. In addition, we are going to award runners-up. If a grade collects $50/student average, and even if they are not the top 3 grades, the grade can get $200.

Help your class/grade get rewarded! (Hint: Kinder is only $26 short of making the $50/student average to get at least $200.)

Also, don't forget the individual prizes too! We have done a great job so far. Let's finish strong, Huskies! Last day to turn in pledges is Friday 11/15!

Sprint Raffle Winners 11/13/19

Made us so happy to give out prizes today! Prizes were raffled off. Any student who had pledged any money were automatically entered for a chance to win (weighted at $1 per entry essentially so the more they fundraised, the better their chances of winning). We gave the gift cards/certificates to the students themselves or to the teachers to give to the students. Congratulations to the winners! And thanks to our sponsors for their generous donations!

But wait! It's not over yet. We are taking pledges until Friday Nov. 15th, and we have not met our fundraising goal yet!

Just at our last PTA meeting, we released $13,500 in funds to the school to cover field trips. With our student population, that's only a little over $15 per student, which just pays for the buses. This would not cover admissions fees and other costs.

This year, PTA also bought 15 canopies for the teachers for use at events such as the Fall Carnival. Later this month, PTA is bringing 4 performances of Robin Hood to the school. Remember last year's fun, interactive, and engaging science assembly? We hope to introduce kids to the broad spectrum of arts and sciences through special assemblies.

PTA also pays for programs such as the Rockstar Student awards, the Good Guys Program, Reading Railroad, and the ROCK program. The other big budget item approved by you at the beginning of the year also allocated about $13 per student for classroom supplies, which gives the teachers additional money to buy books and necessary supplies for the classrooms beyond the school district's small budget and parent donations. Haven't you spent more than $13 in school supplies for your child already?

$45K sounds like a lot of money, but we are a big (and still growing) school and the school district simply does not pay for these "non-essential" programs and needs. Let's continue to enhance our children's educational experiences.


We have only raised about 75% of our fundraising goal. The PTA Jog-A-Thon committee has raised almost $5000 in business sponsorships and grants, and that's not including our individual fundraising.

Would you help and give an additional small donation of $5 to help ALL of us get to our goal? Our kids will thank us for it.

Jog-A-Thon came and went.  Thank you to our fearless leaders and volunteers who helped us prep, set up, donate, scan, and everything in between.
